As an educator, Rachel strives to cultivate learning, promote authentic inquiry, and encourage students to improve their critical thinking skills. Additionally, she recognizes the importance of demonstrating her own desire to learn, and her drive to be successful. Rachel’s goal as a voice teacher is to support students in pursuing their musical passions, improving their technique, solidifying their musicianship skills, and becoming effective communicators. Ultimately, her objective is to encourage her students to follow their own interests with a critical eye and a joyful mind.

It is Rachel’s firm belief that every student, regardless of their background, can improve their ability to listen to, analyze, enjoy, sing, and relate to a piece of music. Mastery of the material is imperative, but that often looks different for each student. Rachel has found success in utilizing a multi-sensory approach for the majority of her lessons. She aims to engage her students in a variety of different ways.

Being an excellent teacher means challenging and supporting students intellectually, and being willing to be challenged and inspired by them in return. Teaching is an extraordinarily rewarding experience, and being able to instruct all students in the art forms that Rachel loves is truly her vocation and her passion.
